President Yoweri Museveni has received and held a meeting with former President of Tanzania, Mr. Benjamin Mkapa who called on him today at State House, Entebbe.
Mr. Mkapa, who is the leading facilitator in the Burundi mediation talks between the Burundi Government and a coalition of opposition groups, briefed President Museveni on the progress of the negotiations between the Burundi parties.
President Museveni commended Mr. Mkapa and his entire team for the work being done to reach a lasting solution to the political challenges in Burundi. Mr. Museveni pledged his support to all efforts committed to the realization of peace in Burundi.
Mr. Mkapa, on his part, commended President Museveni for the efforts and support directed towards the ending of the conflict in Burundi.
